This is a really neat map of the environmental impacts of the gulf oil spill that has cool buttons the user can click on and off to turn on and off certain visible elements. The link provided takes you to the effects on the environment and recreation, but if you click on the other tabs at the top of the map graphic there are additional maps with buttons. Also, this map was actually done in flash (bonus). It's a very informative map and I love the level of interactivity it has while maintaining a clean feel.
